A novelgrapheneoxide/TiO2-polyvinylidene fluoride (GO/TiO2-PVDF) hybridultrafiltration membrane
has beensuccessfullydevelopedviathephaseinversiontechniquebysupplementingwithGO/TiO2
nanocomposites, inwhichthesynergisticcouplingofGOandTiO2 could resultinimprovedphoto-
catalytic activityandendowhybridmembraneswithphotocatalyticantifoulingfunction.Comparedwith
PVDF membranessupplementedwithTiO2 and GO,respectively,theGO/TiO2-PVDF membranedisplayed
significantly improvedphotodegradationefficiency (improvedabout50–70%) andsuperiorphoto-
degradation kinetics(1.0–1.5timesfaster)towardbovineserumalbumin(BSA).Moreover, flux perfor-
mance and flux recoveryratioofmembranesrevealedthattheGO/TiO2-PVDF membranecouldrecover
high flux afterfouling,whichthuspresentedself-cleaningpropertyunderUVstaticirradiation.Besides,
the GO/TiO2-PVDF membraneshowedawater flux upto487.8Lm2 h1, morethan2timesthatofthe
pristine PVDFmembrane,whilekeepinghighBSArejection(92.5%).Therefore,theGO/TiO2-PVDF
membrane wouldhavegoodpotentialinwatertreatmentduetoitshigh-performancemultifunctional
characters, i.e. separation,photocatalyticoxidationandself-cleaning,etc.
